When downloading documents, it is recommended that they are saved to your computer prior to opening or working with them. We recommend the use of USB drives or external hard drives to back up copies of documents and assessments.

iConnect Web conferencing

iConnect (Blackboard) Sessions

Some courses require students to attend iConnect web conferencing sessions with their teacher. This is essentially an online classroom, where your teachers can present course information and engage students in discussion. iConnect uses a web-based program called Blackboard.

To participate in a web conference you will require:

  • stable internet access
  • speakers and microphone, or a headset that combines the two
  • web cam (optional)
  • up-to-date Java installed on your computer.

Your teacher will inform you of upcoming sessions, and will provide a url to access the particular session. You will then have to log in as a Guest using the email address you have registered with TAFE, a display name, and the password provided by your teacher.

Click on the link below for detailed instructions for updating Java, connecting to a session, and setting up audio.
